Saed N A Aker received award from National Academies of Science, Technology and Medicine

Saed N Aker (ASU doctoral student) recently earned a graduate research award sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration of the U.S. Department of Transportation and administered by the Airport Cooperative Research Program of the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

The study aim to delve into a project that looks at cold recycling for airfield pavements. cold recycling is a technique in which existing pavement materials are milled, planed or crushed and then remixed with binders without the application of heat.

Hasan Ozer announced as 2022 winner of the Wilbur S. Smith Award

The Wilbur S. Smith Award for 2022 is given to Hasan Ozer, Ph.D., A.M. ASCE, of Arizona State University, according to the Transportation and Development Institute (T&DI) of ASCE. The award was created to recognize achievements to improving the civil engineer’s position in highway engineering.

Dr. Ozer participates regularly in groups run by professionals for the pavement community. He co-chaired the 2019 and 2021 ASCE Transportation and Development Institute Airfield and Highway Pavement Conferences and is the Chair of the ASCE and T&DI Highway Pavement Committee. Dr. Ozer is also the academy of pavement science and engineering’s treasurer.

Ebenezer Duah one of the winners of the 2020-2021 Airport Cooperative Research Program Graduate Research Awards

Ebenezer Duah is a master’s student in the School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment at Arizona State University majoring in civil engineering. His paper is titled “Critical Distresses Analytics to Develop Performance Prediction Models for Small Hub Airfield Pavements.” Hasan Ozer is his faculty mentor.
